Writers often wonder why it's taken the world so long to get on board with The Black Dahlia Murder, and with the release of Everblack I too will add my voice to the chorus of those asking "if you're not into The Black Dahlia Murder yet, what the fuck are you waiting for?"
Sure, you could say that Everblack is just another album written to the Black Dahlia Murder formula, that it perhaps lacks a little of the spark of earlier work, and you'd be justified in saying so. But let me put it this way: is the new, fourth season of Arrested Development as good as the original three? No. But is it better than a lot of other sitcoms? You betcha. And when your "fourth season" is a sixth (!) LP as strong as Everblack, it's ultimately a case of "if it ain't broke, you better not goddamn dare to try and fix it".
Take, for example, your song for tonight: album opener "In Hell is Where She Waits For Me" is a five minute blast of savagery every bit as intense as anything from the band's back catalogue. Don't believe me? Here!
