Song of the Day: The Dear Hunter - This Body

     I don't know if you've ever heard of The Dear Hunter. I hope you have, since I've written about them before, but maybe you're still in the dark. If that's the case, then it's time you saw the light -- every single colour of it.


     A couple of years ago, The Dear Hunter mastermind Casey Crescenzo came up with the idea of doing a set of EPs, each thematically centered on the emotional possibilities of various colours of the rainbow. The result is nine EPs with 4 songs apiece spanning a range of styles. Above all, it showcases Casey's ability to write eclectic and interesting songs.

     Songs like "This Body", which comes from the first, Black EP of 2011's The Colour Spectrum, a more aggressive EP than some of the others. But don't limit yourself to this one song; consider it a jumping off point, because honestly there's at least half a dozen songs from this collection that I could have chosen to give The Dear Hunter another go in the spotlight today.
