Song of the Day: The Receiving End of Sirens - Planning a Prison Break

     Like a drowning man grasping at a piece of wreckage that until recently was part of a boat, I'm going to cling to a theme from yesterday's song to arrive at today's. And that theme is Casey Crescenzo.



     You'll recall* that I mentioned Casey's first band in passing on my way to talking about The Dear Hunter. That band was The Receiving End of Sirens, and they were a little more straight forward -core with some emo-y tendencies thrown in. But they showed flashes of brilliance, like today's song.

     I always liked "Planning a Prison Break" from 2005's Between the Heart and the Synapse -- catchy with just the right amount of heavy. Do you like Casey's work with The Receiving End of Sirens better, or his The Dear Hunter project?
