Song of the Day: The Fall of Troy - F.C.P.R.E.M.I.X.

     While we're still on the subject of bands gone by that I wish I could raise from the dead with the click of a mouse, we might as well mine the subject for all the idea gold it's worth. And since it's been a bit since the last Loud Noises theme week, why not kill a couple of pigs will this well aimed bird* and do a Back from the Dead week about bands I like that have fallen apart before their time. To start things off there's one now-defunct band that always sticks out in my mind at times like this: The Fall of Troy.

Song of the Day: Straight Reads the Line - The Jig is Up

     Since I did another Kingdoms song yesterday, I figure it's only right to attempt the same resurrection voodoo on another Canadian band I've mentioned before that expired before its time, in the admittedly vain hopes that exposing them to some new fans might somehow magically change the past. Sigh. At least we've got some great songs from bands like Straight Reads the Line.

Song of the Day: Kingdoms - Pyramids

     One of the handy-dandy features of Blogger is that in addition to being able to view raw page view data, I can also see what kinds of views individual posts are getting. So it pleases me to see that over the last couple of weeks or so, there seem to have been at least a few of you showing some interest in now-defunct Canadian post-hardcore band Kingdoms. If 'twere within the realm of possibility for me to resurrect a band with the mere power of this blog, Kingdoms would be near the top of that list.

      Not surprisingly, none of you have given me any addition box ideas to keep the whole Boxing Day thing going. That's OK, I didn't think anybody would anyways, so I have a contingency plan. Just in case you were worried.

     The Christmas season continues, but here in Canada it's Boxing Day today, so we leave Christmas music behind and embrace...box themed music?

Song of the Day (25th): Bing Crosby - God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen

     I know I said yesterday that I'd be back later and everything with another song, but yeah... that clearly didn't happen... Oh well. 'Tis the season, right? Anyways, I'm back today, and Loud Noises is back on track with its regular schedule of programming, starting with a Christmas ditty.
