Song of the Day: A Perfect Circle - The Hollow

The only thing Maynard James Keenan has put out recently besides wine is a bizarre video to accompany his 'meh' cover of Queen's epic "Bohemian Rhapsody", so perhaps it's time we take a moment to remember some of the many cooler things MJK has been involved with.

To that end your song today is "The Hollow", the opening track from the first Perfect Circle album, 2000's Mer de Noms. Picture me in high school, being marginally into Tool when first this album and then Lateralus came out. That one-two punch is a big reason why to this day Maynard's voice is one against which I think modern metal singers ought be compared. It's a high mark to aim for, but then go big or go home, right?

Oh, and fuck the Donald Gordon Conference Centre. You guys are a bunch of dicks. Nobody out there is going to get that, but from time to time I feel the need to climb atop my little soapbox and vent. So fuck those guys, OK? Thanks.
