Song of the Day: Finch - Insomniac Meat

     I'm a firm believer in album openers. It's important to get your record started off on the right foot. Do, and you can establish momentum that carries listeners through the rest of the audio experience. Don't, and you risk losing listeners early.



     I could point to a bunch of examples of either scenario, but tonight I'll just pick one example of an album that gets started right: Finch's "Insomniac Meat" from 2005's Say Hello to Sunshine. If you're into Finch's brand of post-hardcore at all, Say Hello to Sunshine is a great album, and Insomniac Meat" kicks it off with a high-energy prototype for the rest of the songs to come.
