Song of the Day: Kaki King - Carmine St.

I'm dialing in something a little mellower this evening, but I think you'll still dig it. After all, it's interesting, it's instrumental, and it's guitar based, so it's pretty much par for the course around here.

Your song this evening is "Carmine St." by a songwriter/guitarist/singer named Kaki King, from her first album, 2003's Everybody Loves You. Note carefully the order I chose for the description above: Kaki King's first couple of albums were almost exclusively guitar-based instrumentals incorporating a range of cool techniques like tapping and percussion. Her style has since morphed a little, but it was these first couple of albums that really caught my attention, and this song is one of the songiest of the bunch. So check her out, because there's some cool shit here.
