Song of the Day: Intervals - Tapestry

Guten tag, everyone. Today I've got a killer new tune for you from a band that I've been talking up at every available opportunity over the last few months. They've been streaming their new EP online for the last week or two, but since said EP is officially out today, what better day to crank some instrumental metal?*

The awesome band of which I speak is Toronto's Intervals, their awesome new EP is called In Time, and today's awesome song is my current favourite from In Time, "Tapestry". In "Tapestry" (and in the whole EP, really) guitarist/principle songwriter Aaron Marshall has crafted a piece of work that's technical and complex without descending into amusical guitar wankery, and drumming machine Anup Sastry (also of Skyharbor and Jeff Loomis fame) lays the groove on thick. You won't regret listening to some Intervals with the volume up.

One caveat, however, before you click the video below and rejoice in the badass sounds that start streaming from your computer's speakers: since the EP is so now, I think the video below is a snippit from the online stream they were running, as it's cut off a hair early. To remedy that, you could either A) listen to the whole stream, or B) just go buy yourself a copy. Either way, In Time has my seal of approval, so check it out!

* Or "instrumetal", for those of you who've been following along at home.
